Once Upon A Tree

Once Upon A Tree began from a passion to create the best quality cider and perry from the highest quality fruit, whilst continuing to preserve the heritage and tradition of Herefordshire cider-making. The apples and pears are sourced from the traditional apple growing area of Putley near Marcle Ridge and the cider is made at Dragon Orchard, Ledbury.

A combination of good orchard management, fantastic soils and perfect mesoclimate means the fruit is some of the best available anywhere in the UK. Cider maker, Simon Day is an experienced professional winemaker who began making cider after walking through the local orchards and seeing the potential to use winemaking skills to capture the true characters of the apples in the juice and ciders. Great care is taken to select the best fruit and they use the least intervention possible to ensure the maximum amount of flavour is imparted into their ciders and perrys.
