Little Pomona's Old Man & The Bee is named in honour of retired farmer Mark Murray who planted the orchard at Little Pomona, and the many bees and other insects that are critical to its pollination.
Old Man & The Bee 2016 is a blend dominated by Harry Masters Jersey apples (75%) with some Dabinett, Ellis Bitter and barrel-aged citrussy Foxwhelp. It is a true and special reflection of the 2016 harvest.
Bright, light gold. Sweetly floral, apricots, citrus and sweet spice. Softly tannic, round and delicate. This is wine made from apples.
Still, dry and unfiltered.
This cider pours a beautiful, clear, light-gold colour that really sings of autumn sunshine.
It’s still and dry, but rich and full with a wild edge. At its core though it’s a very pure expression of Harry Masters Jersey, all sweet perfume and yellow fruits, with spice, hay and leathery notes.
The tannins are balanced, fine and ripe and the cider has a long juicy finish that is very moreish.
Serve cool, not cold. Perfect with cheese, but try also with white fish in sauces, white meats and lightly spiced dishes.
